Welcome Message

Dear Colleagues,

Greetings from Medanta- Medicity, Gurgaon

First of all, we wish you and your families a very happy new year and hope that this year will bring new opportunities and good health for all.

Current Covid-19 crisis had affected transplantation rates globally, which are now gradually picking up. With resumption in transplant activities, we plan to do a virtual transplant update this time. The theme is `Transplant Immunosuppression- Current controversies and Future outlook.

Science is never an absolute truth, and we hope to address some of these conflict areas through dialogues on certain controversial topics like use of induction agent, best maintenance regimen for kidney transplant, the current status of m-Tor inhibitors and once a day tacrolimus in kidney transplant etc. The format of this meeting would be mostly debates followed by panel discussion by experts on each of these topics.

This year, we are fortunate to have many renowned international experts on transplant for the meet:

Dr Daniel C. Brennan - who is Professor of Nephrology and Medical Director of the Comprehensive Transplant Center at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, Baltimore, US

Dr Helio Tedesco Silva Jr - Professor, Department of Nephrology and Transplant, Hospital Do Rim, University of Sao Paulo, Brazil

Dr K Tanabe - Professor and Chairman-Department of Urology, Tokyo women`s Medical University Japan,

Dr Dorry Segev - Professor and Vice Chairman, Department of Surgery at John Hopkins University

Some of the suggested topics for discussion are:

  • Induction in kidney transplant- For ATG Vs. for IL-2
  • Antiproliferative agent in maintenance IS in KT- For MMF vs. for AZA
  • The utility and current evidence for once a day TAC in kidney transplant
  • mTOR inhibitors in kidney transplant in the current context
  • The current status and future of Immunosuppression in ABO incompatible kidney transplant- Dr K Tanabe
  • One size does not fit all: Big data, machine learning, and progress towards tailored immunosuppression- Dr Dorry Segev

All sessions will be followed by panel discussion

The meeting shall start on 6th Feb Saturday from 5 pm till 8 pm, and again resume Sunday 7th Feb..

The Registration is FREE but mandatory

We hope to see you in the meeting

Best Regards
